It has been announced that the early May bank holiday has been moved from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May to mark the 75th anniversary of VE day.

VE day or ‘Victory in Europe’ day marks the anniversary of the end of fighting with Nazi Germany in Europe during World War Two.

The new bank holiday marks the start of a three day weekend of events commemorating the anniversary.

The early May bank holiday was moved once before back in 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of VE day.

Where possible, our 2020 calendars will be updated to reflect the change of date.
