General FAQs

Why choose branded promotional business calendars?

Promotional business calendars are a way of keeping your brand and contact details on a customer’s wall or desk 365 days of the year. They are a business gift to your customers as well as being a powerful advertising tool for your business.

Even in this digital age customers appreciate a physical inexpensive practical gift. Our promotional business calendars are visually appealing and those with a ‘notes’ section are useful and practical. A lot of people still like to physically write notes.

When is the best time to order calendars?

Calendars can be ordered at any time of the year.

Ordering early in the year guarantees that stock is available and avoids the last-minute rush. Calendars that are ordered early are manufactured and stored until the requested delivery date at no charge. Customers are not invoiced until the calendars are despatched so there is no cash outlay upon ordering.

Why are there no prices on your website, how much do they cost?

We have a large range of calendars of different shapes and sizes. Prices depend on the quantity ordered and the number of colours of your advert. Please contact us with details of what you are interested in for a quote tailored to you. Or tell us your budget and we can suggest suitable calendars.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order quantity is 10 for each design of calendar. If you require less than 10 please contact us.

Can I order a selection of different calendars for the same price?

Yes, you can order any combination of calendars of different shapes and sizes.

Calendar designs of the same size can be ‘mixed and matched’ so if you ordered 25 of one design and 75 of another design and they were both the same size calendars then you would benefit from bulk quantity pricing i.e. the price for 100 calendars.

Does the calendar range change every year?

Calendar images are changed every year. Many hours are spent researching picture sources to obtain top quality images.

We also try and introduce new titles every year and update existing titles based on feedback received from customers.

Where are your calendars produced?

All calendars are produced in-house at our factory in West Sussex in the UK. Producing in-house gives us total control over the whole calendar making process and quality control.

How long does it take from placing an order until delivery?

From proof approval our standard lead time is 4 weeks.

At the time of placing your order your order acknowledgement will specify the week that your order will be despatched (subject to proof approval).

It may be possible to manufacture quicker if needed for a specific date or event – please ask us whether this is possible.

Are your calendars supplied with envelopes?

All our stock calendars are supplied inserted into an envelope or carton.

All double wired calendars (both 13 page and 6 page) and shipping calendars are inserted into a white card mailing box.

‘Mini Memo’ calendars of size 225x320mm are supplied with a manilla peel and seal envelope.

All other stock calendars are supplied with a white peel and seal envelope.

Bespoke calendars can be supplied with envelopes on request.

Are your calendars inserted into envelopes?

Yes, all stock calendars are inserted into envelopes as above. They are left open so you can insert any other correspondence you wish before distributing them to your customers.

Can I have my order without envelopes?

Yes, you can specify that you do not require envelopes when ordering.

Can I change from a Manilla envelope to a white card envelope?

Yes, it is possible to change the manilla envelope used for our ‘Mini Memo’ sized calendars to a white envelope of the same size. Please specify when ordering, an additional cost may apply.

What size are your envelopes and what Royal Mail postage brackets do they fall into?

Our envelope sizes are:

  • Mini Memo – Manilla Envelopes 353 x 250mm (Royal Mail Large Letter)
  • Double Wired 13 page and 6 page, and Shipping Calendars – 350 x 250 x 2mm Mailing Cartons (Royal Mail Large Letter)
  • Desk Calendars and Bespoke A4 calendars – 324 x 229mm (Royal Mail Large Letter)
  • Pictorial Memo calendars – 349 x 449mm (Royal Mail Small Parcel)
  • Bespoke A3 calendars – 450 x 324mm (Royal Mail Small Parcel)

How heavy are your calendars in envelopes, for Royal Mail posting purposes?

Can I have a sample of a calendar?

Yes, calendar samples can be sent on request.

How do your double wired calendars work?

Our double wired calendars are designed to save you money on postage (being Royal Mail Large Letter size) but not be a budget calendar. They still have fully varnished leaves.

The calendar folds in half to fit into the mailing carton but opens out to a full-size calendar. The top half of the calendar turns independently from the bottom half of the calendar.

The bottom half can be torn off at the end of each month or tucked beneath the top half.

Each calendar comes with an A6 instruction leaflet within the mailing box.

Can calendars be recycled?

Calendars are made from paper, board and wire so can easily be recycled in their entirety. The wire at the top of the calendar must be separated from the paper/board elements so they can be recycled separately.

Do you offer any other branded promotional items?

Ordering Calendars FAQs

How do I place an order?

If you wish to place an order please contact us on sales@thinkpromote.co.uk with all the details, or call 01273 495199 to request an order form. Alternatively, please email or fax a purchase order. (Fax number: 01273 345003).

What happens when I place an order?

Once you place an order you will receive an Order Acknowledgment by email within 24 hours. This order acknowledgment will have all your order details, delivery address, despatch date etc. Please check it carefully. We will then request details of your advert requirements and liaise with you to arrange a proof of your artwork.

If no proof is required then production may commence straight away.

My advert details may be changing later in the year, should I wait before placing an order?

You do not need to wait to place an order. Your order will be held until your new advert details are available and stock of your chosen calendars will be held for you. If you wait until too late then stock may not be available.

Do you offer credit terms to new customers?

All new customers are given 30-day end of month credit terms.

When do I have to pay for my calendars?

Calendar orders are invoiced upon despatch of the calendars. Payment is due at the end of the following month and can be paid by bank transfer or cheque.

Will you send me a proof for approval before manufacture of the calendars?

No order will go into production without prior approval of a proof. If the order is a repeat of the prior year and no proof is required then this must be specified on the order form.

Proofs are sent as a PDF and should be reviewed and approved, or amendments advised as soon as possible.

If amendments are required a new proof will be produced. Delay in approving a proof may delay despatch of the calendars to beyond the required date on your order acknowledgment.

How quickly do I need to approve a proof?

Proofs should be approved as soon as possible to avoid any delays beyond the originally requested despatch date.

Do you supply and charge for ‘overs’?

We do not supply nor charge for overs. Orders placed will receive the exact quantity ordered.

Calendar Advert FAQs

I do not have an advert, just an idea of what I want to see, can you create the advert for me?

Yes, creation of your advert is provided free of charge. If you have an idea of the layout you would like then we can create this for you. Or leave it up to us to create an advert from scratch. We can amend the advert as many times as needed until you are happy.

I do not have a copy of my logo; can you create it for me?

We can try and recreate logos if you do not have a high-resolution version. However, it may not be possible to match exactly if the logo is complex. Our artworkers can advise once they have seen what is needed.

Do you charge for creating an advert for me?

There is no charge for creating customer adverts.

In what format should I supply my artwork / logo?

Acrobat PDF is the preferred file format for print ready artwork. Any logos or images should be at least 300dpi at the size they are to be printed. Anything less than this may mean the end result may be jagged or pixelated and not look good quality. If in doubt our artworkers can advise.        

What size can my advert be?

The advert size depends on the calendar chosen as each size of advert has a different advert area. Advert sizes are shown on our website in the spec of each calendar design.

Can my advert be any colour?

Yes, adverts can be any colour.

Our standard colours are Black, Red 032, Warm Red, Reflex Blue, Process Blue, Blue 072, Cyan, Green 347, Orange 021, Yellow 012.

Any non-standard colours may incur a £10 per colour charge.

What are your standard advert colours?

Do you charge extra for non-standard colours?

Any non-standard colours may incur a £10 per colour charge.

I have more than one branch, can I have more than one advert?

Yes, it is possible to have more than one advert per order. There are no additional fees for this.

I have an advert but some details need changing, can you do that and what would be the cost?

We can amend existing advert artwork at no charge.

Bespoke Calendars FAQs

Can I use my own pictures in the calendars?

Yes, it is possible to use your own images in any of our calendars. The images must be high quality – at least 300dpi at the size required.

It is possible to use one of our Bespoke Calendar templates, use a stock calendar template or we can create your calendar design from scratch.

In what format should I supply images for a bespoke calendar?

Any logos or images should be at least 300dpi at the size they are to be printed. Anything less than this may mean the end result may be jagged or pixelated and not look good quality. If in doubt our artworkers can advise.

Can I change other details on the calendar as well as having my advert on it?

Yes, this is possible. Please contact us for details of what is required.

Delivery FAQs

What are your delivery costs?

Delivery costs depend on the quantity and type of calendar ordered. Once you have chosen your calendar please contact us for a quote.

When will my calendars be delivered?

Calendars can be delivered whenever required subject to the lead time from proof approval.

Calendars ordered early in the year will be stored until required.

Our standard lead time is 4 weeks from proof approval.

It may be possible to manufacture quicker if needed for a specific date or event – please ask us whether this is possible.

How are the calendars packaged?

Calendars are enveloped and packaged in double walled sturdy boxes. Boxes are packed and taped securely.

Can I track delivery of my calendars?

Yes, we use DPD couriers who provide a one-hour delivery slot on the day of delivery. The order can also be tracked from as soon as a delivery label is generated by us. If you have a provided an email address on your order form this will be used to notify you of your consignment number from which you can track the delivery.

Can you split the delivery so it can go to more than one address?

Yes, we can split deliveries to more than one delivery address. Additional delivery cost will apply.

Can you individually mail calendars directly to our customers?

Yes, we can provide a mailing service so calendars are sent direct to customers. We can also insert any correspondence into the envelopes as well as the calendars. Please contact us for a quote.
